The CityHelp has as its main goal to answer the needs of those that travel in a given city space. It is above all a digital map with detailed information on Points of Interest.
With CityHelp you can search and locate any street, to locate the nearest Points of Interest and to explore a large set of descriptive and photographic information grouped into 16 categories. [see animation, 91KB]
Its intuitive use, high graphic performance, maps accuracy and quality of the descriptive and photographic information , the CityHelp is an indespensible aid for those that want to travel or just know what exists in the neighbourhood.
With CityHelp and an automatic location system (e.g., a GPS) connected to your PDA you can always know where you are and navigate in the city or region that you have presently installed in your PDA.
How does it work?
CityHelp works in devices with the Pocket PC operating system from Microsoft and in mobile phones with Symbian v60 operating system. It's distributed in CD-ROM. There are currently two map collections; one that consists in Continental Portugal, Oporto and Lisbon maps; the other, in addition to the Continental Portugal map, possesses 25 cities. Shortly, CityHelp will be available to other operating systems and with other collections of cities and regions.
CityHelp allows visualizing the georeferenced road network, gardens, and other elements found in the urban space that support the localization and the navigation in a given geographic area. [ver animação, 68KB]
Through the function "Estou Aqui" (I'm here) the user can indicate, manually or through the information provided by the optional GPS, his/her current position, thus knowing which Points of Interest are nearby. [see animation, 22KB]
Amongst other functionalities, the CityHelp allows searching and locating a given street, searching in the description of a Point of Interest for the existence of a given keyword and finding out how to get there.
